If you do want to put on your own lights here at Hayes we recommend at least 100 per foot of tree. Try using two colours of lights, one in the centre of the tree and another around the outside. Is it better to buy a pre lit or unlit Christmas tree?

Both are great options, it really just comes down to personal preference. A pre-lit tree can work out to be much more cost effective compared to buying a tree and lights separately. But maybe you enjoy taking the time to string your lights yourself or get the family involved. Un-lit trees give you a little more choice, but a pre-lit tree is guaranteed to be perfectly lit every year.

How many lights do I need for a 6 foot artificial Christmas tree?

Our pre-lit 6ft trees come with 600 LED lights on a full tree and we would recommend at least 400 if you are decorating your Christmas tree yourself. Also, you can always layer lights on top of a pre-lit tree. For a full width 6ft Christmas tree, you might then add up to 100 small baubles. But, lights and decorations are all ultimately down to personal preference.

How long is the tree expected to last?

Almost all our artificial Christmas trees carry the Hayes Lifetime Warranty, which covers the tree for 15 years against faulty construction or materials. The artificial Christmas trees sold by Hayes are some of the best on the market and are built to the very best standards. We are able to offer this warranty because we are so confident in the quality of our trees. How do I store an artificial tree?

Many modern artificial christmas trees have memory wire branches. This means that even after they have been packed away they will easily return to their shape when assembled the next year. This makes them incredibly easy to store away. It’s a good idea to store your tree in a water resistant bag just in case of any leaks in cellars or lofts. Put it away in its box once wrapped in the bag and keep it in a cool dry place.
