Christmas Wreaths & Garlands

Try to buy a Christmas wreath with feel-real branches as they are the closest to the real thing. When buying an artificial wreath, you get all of the decadence and festive feel of a real wreath without the loss of needles or fullness. Spending a little bit more on a wreath will also mean you get a more realistic one as they are designed with extra tips to produce a much fuller look.

The first thing to add to your Christmas wreath is a set of twinkly lights, if it has not come pre-lit. For a natural look, spray some cones and dried flower heads from the garden, for example Hydrangeas or Oriental poppies sprayed with antique gold or bronze. Then simply mix with some twigs and sprays of berries. If using a wreath on the Christmas dining table you can add candles of differing sizes to add height and interest. They can be easily hung and then stored away with no fuss for next year.

Wreaths are traditionally hung on the front door to symbolise the circle of life but can also be used on an interior wall or on a round dining table as a centrepiece. Create a quick simple centrepiece by adding battery-operated Christmas lights and filling the centre with cones and three different sized church candles. Christmas garlands can be hung around the spindles of your bannister or placed decoratively along your sideboard or mantel.
