Garden furniture covers stop dust and dirt from getting in when furniture is not in use and also prevent bird droppings, fallen leaves or sap from soiling your outdoor furniture. Choosing a high quality breathable cover will also stop condensation and mould from forming. Many of our manufacturers produce furniture covers specifically for their furniture sets, so they are guaranteed to fit correctly. When choosing a cover, you should consider the size of your furniture as you will need different covers for garden furniture sets, chairs, parasols, swing sets or barbecues. Getting the wrong size will mean your furniture isn't as protected as it should be. Furniture covers are especially important for covering cushions. Aluminium and rattan frames will last well in cold and wet weather, but cushions are susceptible to mould and must be protected from the elements. You can buy dedicated cushion bags for your cushions or, of course, store them in a cushion box. A good quality garden furniture cover will be durable and made from breathable fabric. Does all the rattan garden furniture sold by Hayes have dedicated covers?

No, unfortunately some of the rattan weave garden furniture does not have a dedicated cover. If you find that your piece of furniture does not have a matching cover measure the furniture carefully and check for something of the same measurements. If you are struggling to find something to fit just call our Customer Services team who will be able to find something appropriate, the number is at the top of the website.

Is a garden table cover essential?

All the garden furniture sold by Hayes Garden World is fully weatherproof and can be left outdoors all year round. Covering your garden table in winter will keep it clear of bird droppings, dust and debris and keep it looking as new for longer.

Is there a cover for every garden bench Hayes sell?

No, unfortunately some of the benches don't have a dedicated cover however some of the other makes may fit. If you are unsure as to which cover will fit please call the Customer Services team on the number at the top of the website and they will be happy to advise.

Do Wooden Garden Chairs Need to Be Covered?

Wooden chairs do not need to be covered as they are weather-resistant. However, if you do choose to cover your wooden chairs, be sure to use a material such as breathable polyester that allows the furniture underneath to breathe to prevent condensation and rot.

Are the garden bench covers fully waterproof?

No they are not 100% waterproof as they need to be breathable. If they were 100% waterproof they would attract condensation underneath them which would encourage the formation of mould on the bench, so a good airflow is essential. Placing an upturned bucket on the seat underneath the cover will stop the water pooling on the cover.
