Do Wooden Garden Chairs Need to Be Covered?

Wooden chairs do not need to be covered as they are weather-resistant. However, if you do choose to cover your wooden chairs, be sure to use a material such as breathable polyester that allows the furniture underneath to breathe to prevent condensation and rot.

Is it essential to cover garden furniture?

All the garden furniture sold by Hayes is fully weatherproof and can be left outdoors all year round without being covered. However if you want to protect your furniture from winter dirt and bird droppings and ensure it lasts for longer in a pristine condition then it is recommended that you do cover it over the winter.

We offer an extended warranty on all our garden furniture which covers any manufacturing defects or any substandard materials. How long do wooden garden benches last?

A solid teak garden bench could last as long as 50 years if treated and cared for properly. Softwoods like pine may not last as long but with good care could last around 10 years. As with any outdoor furniture, how well you look after your bench will make a difference to the lifespan. If it is kept covered and regularly cleaned and treated, you will get the maximum number of years from it.
