Buyers guide to garden hammock covers. A garden hammock cover is a great investment, protecting your hammock from the elements and prolonging it’s lifespan. First of all is check if your particular hammock has a dedicated cover specifically designed for your particular piece of garden furniture. If not take the measurements of the hammock and check to see if there is another brand which will fit. If you are struggling to find a suitable alternative call our Customer Services team on the number at the head of the website and they will be able to suggest a solution. Check the material the hammock cover is made from, budget options are not necessarily the best value for money, often constructed from flimsy material with no means of securing them to the bench. The material needs to be fairly heavyweight be showerproof and breathable and have cords or buckles to secure it to the legs of the garden hammock. The fabric needs to be breathable otherwise condensation builds up on the inside of the cover which leads to the growth of moulds on the hammock. If the cover is vinyl or plastic make sure it has mesh panels to ensure good airflow. The fabric needs to be easy to clean, especially if your garden hammock is positioned underneath the flight path of birds. If you need help please call the Customer Services team on 015394 82333 and they will be happy to answer your queries.

FAQ

Ian Hodgett

Are the garden hammock covers completely waterproof?
The garden hammock covers are showerproof but not 100% waterproof as they need to be breathable. Being 100% waterproof they collect condensation on the underside of the hammock cover which in turn leads to the growth of mould on the hammock.
